I’ve been contemplating that title for weeks now and still cannot take it in. Unbeginning End.
He is so much bigger than our finite minds can imagine.
I’ve been focusing on the character of God the past few months and the above mentioned title keeps arresting my thoughts. He is so much bigger than our finite minds can imagine–but try to focus on just one of God’s character traits, the Unbeginning End. A hymn writer–can you tell I enjoy old hymns?–expressed these words that I can’t fully comprehend, but also cannot forget:
Thou hast no youth, great God,
An Unbeginning End Thou art;
Thy glory in itself abode,
And still abides in its own tranquil heart:
No age can heap its outward years on Thee
Dear God! Thou art Thyself Thine own eternity.
Frederick W. Faber (1814-1863)
There is so much to God that we don’t understand.
There is God. He has no beginning and no end. He is His own eternity. Wow. There is so much to God that we don’t understand, our finite minds just cannot comprehend. I suggest you focus on that one phrase. And know you can trust the God who is: The Unbeginning End.

Hi Shirley,
Yes you are so right about God. We have been studying about this in Romans.
I recently came across a very old hymnal titled “Soul Winning Songs For Soul Winners.” By P.P. Bighorn . It is well over 100 yrs old and had one owner and stayed in the same house until I came across it.
This is the preface.
This book of 128 pages is the first half of a complete work being issued.
It is called”Soul WinningSongs” because every song it contains exalts either theBlood (the Water), Word or Spirit, and all the songs are used by Soul Winners.
The Author and many others have pledged themselves to pray every day that the Lord Jesus Christ” may abundantly bless all who are using the book to the salvation of souls.
God grant it.
The Autor,
P.eter Phillip Bilhorn
The whole thing is very interesting to me. Some songs I know from my youth and some I wNt to learn. Very beautiful words.
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you Molly! It’s good to hear from you again! God’s blessings to you!
This is beautiful Shirley! I agree with you, there is much we don’t know about God but those of us who have accepted Him into our lives as Saviour know from our deep faith in Him & His word is all we need. My daddy, a pastor sang one of the old hymns called It Is Well With My Soul when he was in hospice before God ushered him into His eternal home. My dad was a witness & light to everyone he met including the nurses & doctor who took care of him. The doctor told me that she was touched by my daddy’s song which helped his lungs stay clear as well as him being a pastor to many.
Wonderful story, Barbara! Thank you!
