Not to us, O LORD, but to you goes all the glory
for your unfailing love and faithfulness (Psalm 115: 1 NLT).

I confess, I enjoy praise. Yup, I do. I like it when one of my readers say, “I like what you said,” or “I liked your words” or even “Good job!” I wish I could say I’d keep on writing or doing things regardless of praise from my peers. I was reminded through a little devotional how much it isn’t I who deserves the praise, but the LORD of the Universe. Sometimes, I’ll see Christian performers point upward when their performance is applauded, the football player when he gets a touchdown. Perhaps they mean it, perhaps they don’t. I just know I often labor over something I’ve written many times and when someone comments on it, my heart beats a bit more quickly and I feel good and I don’t give praise to the One who gave me the ideas in the first place.

Considered one of the greatest Western composers of all time, J.S. Bach most often wrote at the top of his compositions, “I.N.J.” or “In the Name of Jesus.”  If  Bach did it, so should I. Not to me, but to You, goes all the glory.

I’m going to close with a link to a song using the Scripture quoted above. Enjoy the music. Let it permeate your thoughts this May day.
