This week I attended a funeral for another dear friend. This is the second one I’ve attended in six weeks. Both of these friends had been involved in the same ministry with me. We planned our meetings. Worked at accomplishing them. Both of them spoke of their hope in Jesus Christ. While on earth, they asked for prayer when they were sick. Had fears and disappointments. They prayed for their children, their husbands.  They loved. They planned. They believed. And then they left this earth.

As I sat in both services, I remembered happy times with both of them. Right now, they are both experiencing things we on earth have no idea about. We don’t know what it’s like to pass from death to life. I wonder if Karen didn’t meet Marsha as she entered heaven. We won’t know until it’s our time. But this I know. We should be ready for that meeting.

Both Karen and Marsha are now in the presence of God. They are there because they believed.

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it (Ephesians 2:8-9).

They belong to God. They were adopted into God’s family and received an inheritance.

Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God (Ephesians 1:11).

Both Karen and now Marsha are enjoying that perfect reunion and inheritance in heaven. What grace and excitement. What joy for them. When I was mourning the death of my husband, I played this album over and over again–and especially this song….please enjoy!

My dear friends are now in the presence of their Savior, Jesus. I know I will see them again.
