Look at the lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. (Jesus, Luke 12:27).
It is definitely fall. This past week, we pulled our tomato plants from the garden bed. There were green tomatoes clinging to the vine, but we knew they wouldn’t ripen. It was time–their fruitfulness was over. I picked what may be the last of the dahlias in the back, the hydrangeas in the front. Then as I walked into my front door, I noticed a primrose that I’d put behind the bush, protecting it from the hot sun. It was putting out new blossoms. It was finally cool enough for the primrose to blossom once more. They push out blooms in early spring and mid fall. What a gift!

What about you? Are you feeling cast aside? Your fruitfulness is over. You think your time of influence is done? Look at the beautiful primrose. What was a dried-up-barely-alive plant, is now flourishing in the last gasp of warmth outdoors, giving color and beauty to the world–and those who walk in the door.
If Jesus has the time–Jesus who is God, the Creator of the Universe, cares about the flowers, how much more does He care about you!
Below is a song about flowers that grow in the valley. I like the calming words and voice. I hope you enjoy the song as much as I do. In the meantime, remember the primrose, all dried up and nearly dead, is now flourishing and in bloom once more.

This was wonderful – the garden notes mirror mine – time to bring everything in! And love the colors! But the music piece was really good. Soft voice singing, and what a great moral in the song. Thank you for your way with words!

Ah, thank you friend!
I really loved the song and it touched my heart about planting seeds. I would love to come to your book signing, but I have bad feet and after having surgery to repair a broken bone on the side of my left foot I have a hard time walking. I will be getting a brace to wear to keep my foot straight soon and I pray it will correct my foot. I would really love to buy a signed book. Please let me know how much and I will send you the money.
I love your books, all of them!!
I love flowers. God’s creations are wonderful. Thank you for the reminder that we always have gifts from God that we can use to glorify Him. Blessings. :-)
Shirley – thank you for another inspiring post! You do such a great job of putting into words what we all need to hear! The song was very pretty too, she has a beautiful voice.
I was just looking at a bouquet of red roses on my coffee table and marveling at their beauty! And there are so many varieties of one species! Thanks for reading! Love, Shirley
