Valley to coast

We’ve been along the coast for the past day and saw stunning scenery. Clear blue skies with November sun instead of the usual cloudy skies. As we drove the two lane highway between the Willamette valley and the Oregon coast, I was in awe of the sharp peaks studded with green firs and colorful maples on both sides of  the road, the rolling Umpqua River in between.

The ocean came into view

Then the ocean came into view, breaking against the rocks.

It’s hard not to worship the scenery set before us.

Our world is so beautiful it’s hard not to worship the beautiful scenery set before us. After we settled in to our hotel, we took a walk along the beach. This was the first time I’d been to Agate Beach. I was surprised to see the rolling sand instead of the usual flatness. It looked like the surf with troughs and swells.

Bumps and hollows along the beach.

My life has had ups and downs…

As we strolled toward the water and the beautiful setting sun, I was reminded of my life that has been full of ups and downs.

Stunning sunsets

Beautiful scenery taking my breath away. Fearful times, too. Like when I was afraid for tests taken and the results we would find. Or a job interview. Would I get the job I wanted so badly?

Whispy clouds

During those uncertain times–and the happy times, too, I’ve often dropped to my knees in awe, and surrender to the God who made everything.

He blesses us with peace…

I’m so glad I can put my trust in the God who not only made everything, He is everything. And He cares about me and you, too! When I am enjoying His wonderful creation, and when I’m afraid, He gives strength. And blesses his people with peace.
