Each morning–especially in the spring and summer when the sun rises early, I enjoy hearing the birds call each other just before dawn. My back yard is very private so I feel free to wander among the flower beds in my pajamas and enjoy the flowers, bean plants, tomato plants and even the weeds. I like what the poet, Eleanor Farjeon said about the first morning:

Morning has broken

Like the first morning,

Blackbird has spoken

Like the first bird.

Praise for the singing!

Praise for the morning!

Praise for them springing

Fresh from the Word!

I took these photos a few years ago near the famous Haystack Rock on the Oregon coast. The tide was out and what we saw was amazing. With only a flip phone to take the photos, they still show the marvelous creatures they are. Did you know they can live up to 35 years? I didn’t. Each leg has an eye, and they are carnivores.

I love summer with a new flowers every day pushing out a new bloom or more. These are just a few I picked from my yard.

I will awaken the dawn, I will praise You, O Lord. Psalm 57:8,9

Look up at the sky!

Who created all these heavenly lights? He is the One… Isaiah 47:26a

Enjoy your day. Enjoy God’s creation. Look up at the sky!
