At the beach, the sun set quickly. There it is in all its brilliance. And then, it’s gone! We took a short two days away this past week and were awarded with beautiful beach weather. Little wind. Sun. And sunsets. In rapid succession, the sun bid us goodbye.

Often, I’m waiting for something. Today I was reminded of how I should wait.

Rest (emphasis mine)in the LORD,

and wait patiently for him (Psalms 37:7)

If you know me at all, you know I’m not terribly patient! And I don’t sit still much, either! But I am reminded with those words: Rest: hold peace, quiet self, be silent, stand still. Patiently: trust, wait carefully. And most important. Who are we waiting on? The self-existent, eternal LORD!

Words I need to heed and ponder on this beautiful Friday morning. When I consider who I’m waiting on–the eternal, self existent LORD, I know I can wait. He knows.

Just as the setting sun, with brilliant apricot skies, the bright orange orb that quickly drops into the sea, our waiting will end.
