We’re on the road. Come join us!

We’ve planned this trip for months. Strangely, though excited to go on the road, I was sad to think we were leaving our home, routine, and family. Once we’d packed all we’d need for close to two months, we were ready to go.

A creamy light

We experienced the solar eclipse by stopping at a rest area and though we only saw 90+ percent of the total coverage, were transfixed by the sight. After awhile, the parking lot lights popped on, and it began to cool down. I wished I’d brought my jacket. Oddly, we were standing in the sunshine, but it wasn’t warm. There was a more creamy light, instead of bright August sunshine.

Enjoying creation is a form of worship

We continued our journey through Idaho and into Montana where we’ve been since Monday. What a beautiful creation we live in! Jim and I have traveled to many other countries, but our country is so wide and diverse, one would never have to leave it, yet not see it all.

We took time to relax, too

Sometimes we camp in a campground, other times, we park in a lot where we’re allowed to stay overnight for free. We enjoyed a beautiful area and a little time to relax and read.

Beautiful Glacier National Park

We enjoyed Glacier National Park–a million acres of mountains, lakes, and rivers. The SQ, our 25 foot RV, was too long to drive the Going-to-the-Sun road through the park, so we took the Red Jammer tour.

80-year-old Betsy, our bus for the day

The Going-to-the-Sun road is only two lanes wide, and quite narrow. Hair-raising at times. I’m glad we couldn’t take SQ!

Some of the photos are hazy, for there was (and is) a forest fire going on in the park. Enjoy some of the sights with me.

Continental Divide where on the east the rivers empty into the Atlantic Ocean, on the west side, the Pacific Ocean.

Hope you’ve enjoyed some of the sights on the first leg of our journey. We anticipate visiting with Montana cousins and then drive further east to Williston, North Dakota.

Until next time……
