We’re here in Washington DC. You heard last week about our lost luggage–all found now.We were at a Christian Worldview weekend and on Sunday, we packed our bags and headed to the city. We are within walking distance of the center of things. We’ve enjoyed wonderful sights and we’ll include some of them here.

First off, we headed to the center of town where we went to the Vietnam Memorial Wall. What a sight. This day, there were veterans from that war. Many were in wheel chairs. Here’s some photos to see:

Always moving to see the many names. The families affected by the deaths of each name. So sad.

We walked to the Lincoln Memorial near the Wall:

After walking back and forth–I’m sure we walked at least five miles, we stopped for lunch and had Pho Chicken. My throat was sore and I thought the soup would be soothing….it was.

Then, our highlight of the day, visiting the State Department. I’ll just include the photos:

The furnishings in the various reception rooms where foreign dignitaries are received were beautiful. All items and architecture were donated and not paid with tax monies. Each piece had a story.

There are so many more photos I could show you, but there’s not time…

On our walk back to our hotel, we passed through Georgetown. Here’s a mansion turned into apartments.

Mansion on our walk to our hotel

Lots of churches to pass by.

We’re now relaxing at our hotel after dinner.  The White House. Can’t wait! Tune in tomorrow!
