Marriage Supper

There’s a wedding this evening. So much preparation for this big day. After the ceremony will be a light dinner–supper for those attending the wedding. My daughter has been preparing this meal for her daughter’s wedding for some time. Many friends and family have participated in some way. It will be served tonight after the wedding ceremony.

There’s a wedding feast that will be served to the followers of Jesus Christ one day. It’s described in Revelation:

Then the angel said to me, “Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God” (Revelation 19:9).

John the disciple, later called apostle, described the feast in detail in the last book of the Bible, Revelation 19:7-10. There are various beliefs of when this meal takes place. It is my understanding that it is after the Rapture of the Church, during the Tribulation, and before Christ returns to earth. Regardless of when this takes place, only those who have a relationship with Jesus Christ are invited, along with the Old Testament saints who believed in the coming Messiah before Jesus came to earth. https://www.gotquestions.org/marriage-supper-Lamb.html

It will be a glorious feast, just as the upcoming supper after the ceremony today. There will be toasts to the bride and groom. Gifts given. And a hearty farewell as the bride and groom escape to their honeymoon and begin their life together.

The toast

Only the people invited to the wedding today will come.

The Bible says, “blessed” are those invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb. I urge you to carefully examine your own lives. Make sure you have the invitation. We don’t know when it will take place. I just know we will be full of joy when we are in attendance. Much greater than anything we have ever experienced here on earth. I hope to see you there!
