Our Lord promises to show us the path of life. I've trusted in that promise for a long time. I am grateful I'll see Dick again one day on the other side. What about you? Do you know your eternal destination?
This day, eleven years ago now, on a Friday in January, I experienced loss. I knew I would be a different person. A person who knows sorrow. A person who knows joy. A person who knows comfort.

I wish you a blessed, thoughtful Christmas. You may not feel merry, but hopeful for the healing that will come. I promise it will come.
This Christmas season, I challenge you to read carefully some of the less-heard Christmas carols. I believe you may be encouraged by their words. Without this special season, we would not know the hope the Christ-child-Savior brings to us.
Enjoy the day after Thanksgiving. Feast again on the left-overs from yesterday's Thanksgiving meal. Put up your decorations for Christmas if that is your custom. And give thanks. The eternal battle is won!
