Travels with Shirley and Jim–Never a Dull Moment!
Going up one of the many mountain ranges, Jim noticed a lack of power. Hmmmmm. Then the engine light came on and the indicator light that told us to add fuel additives came on too. We knew this could not be ignored, so we began searching for a shop to have a look at our ailing vehicle.
God’s Creativity
Animals. What variety and creativity! We went to the State [...]
Joy Will Come
Whether you remain single after being happily married, whether you find another soul mate as I have—thrice—God is right there with you. He is not going anywhere, but right there wherever you are. I’ve been accused of giving too pat answers, and I hope you don’t think these are pat answers, but ones I’ve discovered are true and did work for me.
Who’s My Audience?
It’s another reminder to me that I have a bigger audience. The One who created the universe and is crazy about me
Face Your Fears
After a day or so, we began to look at that accident as a miracle from God. Only the night before the accident, my husband installed a roll bar to protect the driver and passenger from serious injury if the car was overturned with its soft roadster top.

Moving Forward
That statement is true, dear friend who might be in the early stages of grief. The terrible times will ease. Your sorrow does abate. It doesn’t fully leave you, but that terrible grip of the sorrow begins to fade. It takes time, yes. But more than time, it takes work.
Prayer for America
What if believers all around the United States began to pray for their country? What might happen?
A Neighborhood Walk
A few weeks ago, one cheerful sunny morning, we walked along the road and heard the rumble and grind of large equipment.
Wear My Peace
I've learned that to Wear My Peace in the good and bad times is better, though not always easy.
Erika Ann
I began to read my Bible. All the scriptures seemed to open up and become real to me. No longer did I read out of duty, but because I wanted to……
At The Cliburn–In Texas
The performances were flawless. We are novices, but we recognize good music. Each of the participants settled themselves on the piano bench before they played, making sure it was the right height and distance from the keys.
Grief Makes Her Appearance Again
I thanked God for those memories, for they were such a part of me. I realized I didn't need to push those memories away, just be grateful I had them. I realized that she--grief--sometimes returns. But just briefly. Then she drifts away.
My Own Carrie Lynn Rudberg
Maybe I'll always feel sad about Carrie, I thought. I was haunted by the fact that she had no resting place, because I didn’t know what they did with her body.
