A Humble Beginning
Tonight, as we celebrate Jesus' birth--whether it took place on this exact date--or another date, I plan to reflect on the fact that He did come.
Tonight, as we celebrate Jesus' birth--whether it took place on this exact date--or another date, I plan to reflect on the fact that He did come.
In the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season, I plan to take the time and think about what the prophet advises the Jews upon their return from exile and apply to myself.
I also realized once again, that prayer is important and God hears every one of them. He answers but not always in the time we think it should happen. Sometimes as in my case it was “wait.”
We don't know what's around the next corner, but we do know who will carry and deliver us. That's a promise for you, too.
Yes his love does endure forever. In the lean times. The lonely times. The in-between times.
I know from my own experience, not all days are happy days. Not always do we want to give thanks.
Often we give thanks when our prayers have been answered in a big way. But let's remember to thank God for the little things, too.
Life sometimes places us in a cocoon of rest and reflection.
Similarly, in our spiritual life, we sometimes stray away. Gently, the Holy Spirit tugs at us...
Run to Him. Trust Him. He is worthy to be trusted like no other. Trust the signpost of Scripture.
